Welcome to the
AltaColorado AdventureClub! We exist to form
a community of Colorado Outdoor Enthusiasts
through recreational and social activities.
The AdventureClub is a free Colorado Outdoor
Club.
We’re based in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky
Mountains next to the historic mining town,
Leadville, in Lake County, Colorado. We’re
“in the middle of everything” near the
geographic center of the state, where the
opportunity for outdoor recreation is
unsurpassed.
Lake County, so named because it has more
lakes than any other county in Colorado, may
be more famous as the highest county in
America, home of the highest incorporated
town (Leadville, 10,152 feet) and location
of Colorado’s two highest “fourteener” peaks
(peaks over 14,000 feet in elevation), Mt.
Elbert (14,433 ft) and Mt. Massive (14,421
ft). These peaks, part of the Sawatch Range,
are visible from nearly everywhere in Lake
County.
